Hello! We are back up for air after all of the holiday festivities! it's only about 2 months later!
To catch you all up...The fun began when Ryan, Beth, and cute baby Rayn came for a visit to hit the christmas jam and go to see the Broncos begin unfolding their season in Charlotte. Whatever the end result it was way too much fun!! Rayn and Elliot had so much fun together and would actually hug and kiss each other! I think that elliot might have given rayn a leg up on the walking biz and Rayn taught elliot how to squeal...which is absolutely adorable when rayn does it because it is quiet and dolphinlike...but our Miss Thang doesn't do anything quiet and her squeal makes everyone stop in their tracks and then of course laugh:) We loved having them at our home.
from what I understand, little miss rayn is now a walker and i can't wait to see it!
Then we were lucky enough to catch Sue and John on their way to Greensboro for a visit! It was short but so super sweet! Only a few short months before they will be back to asheville for the phish show and then we plan to tie them up and keep them prisoner until they promise to move here!
Then Christmas actually arrived and my dad came for a visit which was so great since he hadn't seen elliot since she was 5 months old...big difference! The kids had a blast with the holidays and got all kinds of fun presents...(rock band rocks...it was totally for them, i swear). We went to the grove park - as we do every year- and had brunch with the fam and walked the beautiful grounds being that it was like 65 degrees! Dad and I went to Charlotte to see WVU put the smack down on UNC...woo hoo!
Then of course there was our quiet new years at home...drank too much wine and went to bed...perfect.
Last, but certainly not least, Elliot turned 1!!! We went against everything in the books and had an actual bday party with babies and kids and parents everywhere. The babies did so great playing with all the toys. Elliot greeted each and every baby with her little hugs and kisses....she loves kids! She got lots of presents but i am pretty sure the pink chair is her favorite! I spent the first year of her life protecting her from anything that wasn't organic and was so careful about everything that was put in her mouth, so i was hesitant about just giving her cake. I decided to make a cake from scratch for her so i knew there were only natural sugars in it (which is plenty, i promise) though it didn't taste all that great. I'll make it up to her next year! She seemed to like it but not enough to shove it in her face. She took VERY careful bites so as to not get dirty - just like a good little scully! Anyhow...she had tator tots for dinner tonight and they weren't even organic...she loved them! Mommy is slowly but surely loosening up. I hope to blog a little more often so it isn't like reading cliff notes.
